• Contacts: With your explicit permission, we collect phone numbers and names from your device's contact list to power the search index.
• Profile avatar: An optional photo you choose to upload.

• Device type and operating system (iOS/Android)
• App usage data (searches performed, coins used, features accessed)
• IP address and general location (country level)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account
• Verify your identity via OTP
• Power the contact search index that the Service is built on
• Process coin purchases and referral rewards
• Send you transactional messages (OTP codes, account notices)
• Improve and personalize your experience
• Detect and prevent fraud or abuse
• Comply with legal obligations

3. Contact Data and the Search Index

The core feature of NUMID is a shared, crowd-sourced phone number index. When you upload your contacts, the phone numbers and names from your device are stored on our servers to allow other users to search for numbers and see who has them saved.

Specifically:

• The name under which you saved a number may be visible to other users who search that number.
• Your own phone number may appear in search results for users who have saved it in their contacts.
• You can request removal of your phone number from search results at any time from within the app (a small coin fee applies).

We do not share raw contact lists with third parties. The data is used solely to power the in-app search functionality.

4. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share data with:

• SMS/OTP providers (e.g., Twilio): To deliver verification codes to your phone number.
• Payment processors: To process coin purchases securely. We do not store payment card details.
• Hosting and infrastructure providers: To operate our servers and database.
• Law enforcement: If required by applicable law, court order, or governmental authority.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including:

• Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
• Encrypted data storage at rest
• Hashed passwords (bcrypt)
• Access controls limiting who can view sensitive data

No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach that affects your rights, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your profile and personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or to resolve disputes.

Contact data uploaded to our index may be retained after account deletion to maintain the integrity of other users' search results, but it will no longer be associated with your account.
